Modular Key Cabinet 🔑✨

This is a fully modular key cabinet system that you can customize exactly the way you need it.

Each module, except for the top tray which works as the final closing piece, has rail slots on the bottom and matching rails on the top. This allows you to stack and connect the parts freely and build your own cabinet layout.

You can choose between thinner trays, thicker trays, or mix them together depending on what you want to store. Simply use the different STL files, or even the pre-sliced profiles if you want to make printing easier. 🙂

Printing Options

The main cabinet body can be printed in one piece, including the movable hinge and the door, if your printer has enough build volume.

For smaller 3D printers, the door and the main body can also be printed separately and assembled afterwards.

The door includes two recesses for round magnets:

• Magnet size: 10 mm diameter
• Magnet thickness: 2 mm

Apart from that, you are completely free to choose your own combination of modules, colors, and layout. 🎨

Important Print Notes

Some parts require supports, depending on the module and print orientation.

Please make sure to print the parts in the correct orientation, especially for the rail connections and hinge parts. This is important to keep the tolerances accurate and make sure everything fits smoothly.

If you are unsure about the correct print settings or orientation, I recommend using the included pre-sliced profiles. They are already prepared for the correct print direction and settings. 👍

Material

PLA works well for this design.

You can of course try other materials too, but the included profiles are intended for PLA printing.

Assembly

1. Print the modules you want to use.
2. Slide the parts together using the integrated rail system.
3. Add the top tray as the final closing piece.
4. Insert the magnets into the door.
5. Mount or place the cabinet wherever you like.

Customization Ideas

You can print different modules in different colors, combine thin and thick trays, or scale your setup depending on how many keys and small items you want to store.

The system is meant to be flexible, so feel free to build it exactly the way it works best for you.
