I created this design to keep my shade structure from blowing away. I live in a pretty windy area and like to put a canopy up to provide shade for the summer but it was always getting blown around by the wind. This was frustrating me so I bought some weights for the canopy and they worked okay but since they had an open slot for installation eventually the canopy leg would work its way free. I designed this to fit in the relief holes of the weight plates and use it with a second set of plates rotated 180°. Now with double the weight and no escape route for the leg, my canopy hasn't moved an inch all summer long.
