Modular Filament Storage Drawers

Keep your workspace organized and your filaments easily accessible with this modular drawer system. Designed with versatility in mind, this system accommodates standard spools, compact spools, and Bambu Lab refill boxes.

This model is an original design but it has been inspired by the Modular Filament Drawer System by RobertCowanDIY and the PVC Pipe Remix by 3D Van Reeth.

Key Features

• Customizable Depth: Uses six ½” PVC pipes cut to equal lengths. Customize the depth to fit your exact shelf or enclosure space! (Maximum tested PVC length: 480mm)
• Integrated Swatch Display: Features a dedicated slot on the front to slide filament swatches, letting you see exactly what's inside at a glance. Fits standard Bambu Lab swatches perfectly. If you don't have standard Bambu swatches, you can easily print your own. Filament Swatch with Label and Transparency Test 
• Interlocking Expandability: Built-in holes on all four sides, allow you to secure multiple frames together horizontally or vertically.
• Optional Quick-Snap Handle: Includes a dedicated handle model that slides in from the back and securely locks into place.

Component & Front Plate Options

The model consists of 4 main parts: Front Frame, Back Frame, Front Plate, and Back Plate. You can choose between two styles for the Front Plate:

1. Minimal Plate: Optimized for fast printing and low filament consumption.
2. Frame Plate: Perfect if you prefer to hide the spools or want to display your own custom faceplate or image.

Assembly & Hardware Requirements

• PVC Pipes: ½” PVC pipe cut to six equal lengths based on your desired depth.
• Mounting Hardware: Use M4 screws to securely attach the frames to your shelf or mounting surface.

• Horizontal Expansion: Use short M4 screws and nuts to join multiple frames side-by-side.

Important Safety Notes:

Extend one at a time: To reduce stress on your shelf and the mounting hardware, avoid extending multiple drawers simultaneously.

Do not leave extended: Return drawers to the closed position when not in use to prevent long-term strain.

• The drawer shown has been printed in PLA. Print with stronger materials if additional strength is needed.
