SnapHooks is a modular wall-mounting system, designed with flexibility in mind to provide a simple and secure solution for mounting items on the wall. Mount the base once, then swap hook modules as your storage needs change or as you prototype new designs. 

This debut collection features four wall hooks and a hook blank/template that includes only the SnapHooks latch interface, making it easier to design your own compatible hooks.

While many modular wall-mounting systems rely on friction fits that make hooks difficult to attach or may not fully constrain vertical movement, SnapHooks uses a double-latch mechanism with a satisfying click that lets you know when the hook is secured. The latch is designed to slide on easily, but requires intentional effort to remove once secured, preventing any accidental bumps from knocking the hook loose.

  • These can easily be adjusted in Bambu Studio using boolean cylinders to fit your screw size
     

Installation

1. Secure the wall mount to your desired location using appropriate mounting hardware
2. Slide your hook of choice onto the mount until you feel the snap
3. To remove, apply upward pressure and slide the hook off the mount

Important Notes

• Separate versions for PETG and PLA are included due to the different tolerances that are required on the latch and internal connection due to PETG shrinkage
• PLA is not recommended for long-term storage of heavy items, but it should be suitable for lighter items
• Depending on your bed adhesion, a brim may be required for printing the latches. In my testing, a brim was not needed for PETG, but it was helpful for PLA
• If you test the mechanism without mounting it to the wall, it may be difficult to unlatch. To assist in this scenario, the bottom is open, allowing you to gently pry the latches apart
• During my testing, the latches did not break when sliding on and off the wall mount; however, if they are flexed much beyond their intended range, they may break
