Since the Beginning of Time...

For as long as people have measured time, they've faced the same challenge: How do you tell time in the dark?

The earliest clocks depended on the sun, making them useful only during daylight hours. As clockmaking advanced, keeping track of time at night remained a problem. Candles and oil lamps could illuminate a clock, but they required constant attention and posed a fire hazard.

Inventors came up with some creative solutions. One of the more unusual attempts came from French inventor M. de Villayer, who designed a nighttime clock that relied on jars of scented spices. Each hour had its own unique fragrance, allowing the user to tell the time by smell.

Fortunately, we've come a long way since then.

Electricity and light bulbs made illuminated clocks possible, but even modern designs have their drawbacks. A constantly illuminated display can add unwanted light to your bedroom while you sleep, while clocks with push-button backlights require you to fully wake up, reach over, and press a button just to check the time.

Assembly

To assemble and use your clock, you will need:

• Tape
• A 2.5 mm Allen key or screwdriver
• A USB-C cable

Follow the instructions in the attached assembly guide to complete setup. (do not worry. The assembly instructions are long but that is because I tried to put in as much detail as possible. The assembly is not too complicate.
