5-Speed Manual Gearbox with Reverse

This is a fully functional, highly detailed 5-speed manual transmission model (plus Reverse) designed for educational demonstration, engineering enthusiasts, or anyone who loves mechanical design.

Every major internal component of a real manual transmission is represented here, including the input shaft, counter shaft, main output shaft, synchronizer hubs, synchronizer rings, sliding sleeves, and a reverse idler gear.

The multi-colored gear assembly makes it incredibly easy to visualize how shifting gears changes the drive ratios from the input shaft to the output shaft.

   Assembly & Printing Tips

• Color Coding: For the best visual effect, consider printing the matching gear sets on the main shaft and counter shaft in distinct colors (as shown in the project photos) to easily identify each speed.
• Tolerances: This is a mechanical model with interlocking parts. Ensure your printer's flow rate and X/Y tolerances are well-calibrated so the gears spin smoothly and the synchronizer sleeves slide without binding.
• Post-Processing: A small amount of plastic-safe lubricant (like silicone grease) on the shafts and gear teeth can drastically improve the smoothness of the manual shifting action.
