Root Clearing Markers Insert (RBGSVS)

A double-height Root module that keeps all 12 Root: Resin Clearing Markers (4 fox, 4 mouse, 4 rabbit) in three sliding drawers, one suit per drawer. Built to the Root Board Game System (RBGS) standard footprint (106.5 x 69 mm) and two modules tall (64 mm), so it fills one full column of your RBGS-organised Root box.

The markers are big and don't sit in neat rows, so each drawer carries four pockets traced from the real pieces. The four of a suit interlock and drop in as a set, sitting a little proud so you can pick them out by hand.

What RBGSVS means

RBGSVS = Root Board Game System, Vertical Storage. Two things:

1. It stores vertically. Pack your modules into the Root box, put the lid on, and you can stand the whole box on its edge, or even upside down, on a shelf. Nothing shifts. The reason it works: RBGS modules are open on top, so what holds the markers in isn't a lid of their own, it's the ceiling right above them, the underside of the module stacked on top, or the game box lid for the topmost module. Every piece sits just under that ceiling, so once the box is packed and closed there's nowhere for anything to go. (Sitting open on the table, as in the photos, the markers lift straight out. That's the whole point of showing it open.)
2. Fully RBGS-compatible. Same module sizes as the rest of the Root Board Game System, so it tiles into your Root box alongside everything else, and that stacking is exactly what gives you the vertical storage.

This one is two standard RBGS modules tall (64 mm), where most modules are just one. The footprint is the standard 106.5 x 69 mm, so it still drops straight into the grid. It just fills a full column from floor to lid.

How it works

• Three sliding drawers, equal height, one suit each. They run on side rails, and the bump-and-divet detent gives a clear click when a drawer seats. The lower drawers' fronts sit just under the drawer above so nothing scrapes.
• Labelled faces. Each drawer front has a thumb notch to pull it open, and a recessed two-colour plaque beside it with the suit's icon and name.

What's included

Two print files, both part of this listing:

1. Box and drawers (single colour). One plate: the box plus all three drawers. This is the insert itself.
2. Drawer-face labels (multi-colour, optional). A small separate plate of three plaques (Fox, Mouse, Rabbit), each a white tile with the suit's icon and name raised in a second colour. They aren't part of the drawers, you print them separately and glue one onto each drawer front, where it seats flush in the recess. Skip this file if you'd rather leave the faces plain.

How to print

• Filament: PLA. The box in the photos is white, the markers are their faction colours, and the labels use white tiles with red, orange and yellow relief.
• Box and drawers: 0.2 mm layer height, 3 walls, 15% infill.
• Labels: 0.08 mm layer height for clean text and icons, 3 walls. Painted by object, so one filament swap per colour, no purge tower.
• Orientation: base-down, as laid out on the plate.
• Supports: off. Every overhang is at or under 45 degrees.
• Detect thin wall: on, to keep the thin drawer floors and rails solid.

Assembly

1. Print the box-and-drawers plate. That's the working insert, ready to use.
2. If you want the labels, print the small labels plate, then glue each plaque into the matching drawer-face recess (it seats flush).
3. Drop each suit's four markers into their drawer as the interlocking set.
4. Slide the drawers home until each one clicks.
