Overview

The Modular Dive Marker is a fully 3D printable diving marker designed for pools, swimming practice and underwater games.

The system consists of a weighted anchor and a floating buoy connected by a rope. Once placed in the water, the anchor sinks to the bottom while the buoy remains visible at the surface, creating a fixed underwater reference point.

The anchor can also be used without the buoy as a simple diving target.

The design is intentionally modular and easy to customize. An editable STEP file is included, allowing you to modify the model in your preferred CAD software.

Features

  • Fully 3D printable
  • Editable STEP file included
  • Modular design
  • User-fillable anchor
  • User-fillable buoy
  • Adjustable rope length (simply tie a new knot)
  • No special hardware required
  • Easy to customize
  • Designed for remixing

Anchor

The anchor consists of two printed parts.

The rope is inserted through the top opening and secured inside the housing with a simple knot that can be accessed through the side opening.

The bottom cap unscrews and can be filled with almost any ballast material, for example:

  • Gravel
  • Small stones
  • Stainless steel nuts
  • Screws
  • Fishing weights
  • Aquarium gravel

Adjust the ballast amount to match your pool depth and desired stability.

The anchor can also be used without the buoy as a standalone diving target for swimming practice and underwater games.

Floating Buoy

The buoy consists of three printed parts.

Its geometry provides enough buoyancy to float on the water surface without requiring any additional foam or flotation material.

Simply print the three parts, assemble them and attach the rope.

The design is lightweight, durable and easy to customize.

Printing Notes

⚠️ Please do not modify the recommended print settings.

The anchor body has been intentionally designed without top and bottom solid layers.

This allows water to quickly enter the exposed infill structure, preventing trapped air and significantly improving the sinking performance.

The visible infill on the top and bottom surfaces is part of the design and not a printing defect.

Changing these settings may reduce the anchor's performance and prevent it from sinking as intended.

Designed for Customization

This project was intentionally designed to be modified.

Feel free to create your own versions.
