UV-Resistant Magnetic Cabinet Catch Replacement

Designed as a direct replacement for the magnetic catches commonly used on shutter-style windows, cabinets, doors, and similar applications. The original plastic catches tend to become brittle and fail after prolonged UV exposure, especially when installed outdoors or in direct sunlight.

I created this replacement so I could print it in PETG (or another weather-resistant material) and avoid repeatedly replacing the factory parts.

Installation

1. Remove the failed original catch.
2. Transfer the magnet from the original part.

   1. Add each part of the magnet assembly one at a time

      

3. Install the printed replacement using the original mounting hardware.
4. Verify proper alignment and latching force.
