I combined the features I liked most from several refill spool designs, and redesigned the rest to create a spool optimized for printing on the A1 Mini.
The goal was to create a refill spool that is easy to print, uses minimal filament, looks clean, and retains the capacity and usability of the original Bambu Lab spool.

- Symmetrical hexagon pattern aligned when the spool is standing upright

- Prints without supports
- Fits back inside the original refill cardboard box
Printing
For best adhesion, clean the build plate with warm water and dish soap before printing. Avoid touching the print area afterwards, as skin oils reduce adhesion.
If you plan to dry your filament in a filament dryer, print the spool in PETG or another heat-resistant material. Otherwise, PLA works perfectly well.
The PETG print profile uses 25% infill, as PETG is more flexible than PLA.
After printing, allow the build plate to cool before removing the print. In my experience, this makes removal easier and helps prevent the print from warping.
Assembly
Assembly is identical to the original Bambu Lab spool. I personally don't use the locking shim, but the design is compatible with it if you prefer.
