I've seen post from makers for a solar tree nodes which some cost money to order so I decided to use this as a learning opportunity and create a Solar Tree Node for my Meshcore Repeater. I've designed this in Autodesk Fusion which I am in no way an expert but it turned out well and I have one hanging in my tree which gives me about a 60ft height to my Repeater.

The design is made of of several parts, the main body which the solar panels attach to, the hook attachment which I glued to the top of the body, for the cylinder you have two options a threaded cap and a snap and turn cap. I was experimenting with the snap and turn so its actually right to loosen, still it works so I'm leaving it for now.

I split this into multiple parts to make it easier to print and to give me access to the solar panel wires after printing. I built mine by adding schottky diodes to each panel and then gluing them to the body which can be seen how this works in the photos. I glued the cylinder to the body and  then connected all of the wires from the panels to a CN3791 solar charge controller, the charge controller to my heltec t114, battery to the charge controller, and antenna to the node (I actually do this first before adding power). 

The only thing I didn't like was the screw lid twist the antenna cable so on my build I had to adjust and twist the cable so it would untwist when I screwed on the lid, this is why I wanted to do the click and fit lid.

Here are my main parts that I used in my build, since this is outside I would recommend PETG for the print at minimum. If you find your own controller make sure the voltages match the panel. There are multiple kinds on the web but these are what I purchased and they worked great for me so far. The battery sits around 90% throughout the day.
