⚙️ Customizer features:

  • Vase mode ready: Leave the mode on solid to output a completely solid block. This is specifically designed to be sliced using the 'Spiral Vase' setting in your slicer for lightning-fast, seamless printing with zero stringing.
  • Dynamic twist: Set the exact rotation degree using the twist slider. Go for a subtle 45-degree elegant sweep or an aggressive 360-degree tornado!
  • Morphing profile: Use chamfer_distance to mathematically morph the shape from a sharp square into a faceted octagon. The corner_smoothing parameter lets you control exactly how soft or sharp the vertical edges feel.
  • Bulbous curvature: Adjust the min_radius and max_radius to give the vase a beautiful, organic belly that maximizes the shifting colors of co-extruded filaments.
  • Pre-hollowed mode: Want to print a sturdy planter with thick, solid walls instead of using vase mode? Select the hollow preset and define your exact wall_thickness.

     

🧠 Behind the design (For makers & moderators)

To ensure optimal slicing without any micro-stutters, this algorithm bypasses standard booleans and constructs the vase from scratch using a highly optimized 3D polyhedron matrix.

Instead of stacking simple shapes, the code uses trigonometric math to map a shifting polygonal profile onto a sweeping Z-axis curve. To blend the sharp intersecting geometric planes into fluid, continuous curves, it utilizes a custom mathematical smin (smooth minimum) function. This results in a flawlessly smooth mesh that allows your printer to maintain maximum speeds through the curves, ensuring an incredibly glossy surface finish for silk filaments.

 

🖨️ Print settings:

  • Material: PLA Silk, Dual-Color, or Tri-Color co-extruded filaments look absolutely stunning on this geometry!
  • Layer height: 0.16mm or 0.20mm works beautifully.
  • Spiral vase mode: If you use the default solid model, you MUST enable "Spiral Vase" in your slicer settings (found under the 'Others' tab in Bambu Studio).
  • Bottom shells: Set bottom shell layers to 4 or 5 to give the vase a heavy, stable base.
