Gridfinity Tackle Box

My design combines the flexibility of the Gridfinity system with a rugged, portable tackle box. This tackle box was developed by me (@shrinermac) based on my Ammo Box to give anglers a reliable, customizable, and visually refined storage solution for organizing fishing gear. Designed from the ground up with 3D printing in mind, it provides a balance of durability, organization, and efficient use of space. Every detail supports secure storage, easy transport, and a clean, uniform look on the shelf, in the boat, or at the water's edge.

Key Features

One Box for All Your Tackle

This box features a built-in handle for easy carry. The box can stand on all sides, allowing multiple boxes to stack securely and maximize storage space. Whether you're organizing by species, technique, or trip, a consistent box size keeps everything neat and easy to store.

Gridfinity Compatible Interior

The interior utilizes a Gridfinity-compatible base, allowing you to customize the layout with standard Gridfinity bins and accessories. Create dedicated spaces for hooks, weights, soft plastics, terminal tackle, swivels, snaps, jig heads, flies, and other fishing essentials.

Fully Customizable Organization

No two anglers organize gear the same way. The modular Gridfinity system lets you rearrange, add, or replace bins as your tackle collection changes. Configure the box for freshwater, saltwater, fly fishing, ice fishing, or general-purpose use.

Secure Latching System

Dual latches keep your tackle protected during transport while still providing quick and convenient access when it's time to fish.

Durable Construction

The design emphasizes strength, compactness, and a rugged aesthetic suitable for boats, kayaks, tackle bags, vehicles, and long-term storage.

Dust and Moisture Control

The lid and base have an interlocking groove where a 1.4mm x 0.8mm TPU gasket can be installed for additional dust and moisture resistance, helping protect tackle from the elements.

Personalization Ready

The recessed area on the lid was intentionally left open for your own SVG customization. Add your name, fishing club logo, species identification, or custom artwork to make the box uniquely yours.

The system was created to store, protect, transport, and organize fishing tackle in a way that is both functional and visually appealing. Its consistent footprint, stackable design, and Gridfinity-compatible interior make it a practical solution for anglers who value organization, efficiency, and customization. Whether you're carrying a day’s worth of tackle or building a complete modular tackle storage system, this box provides a durable platform that adapts to your fishing style and keeps your gear exactly where you need it.

Assembley

Join the lid and base:

Align the lid’s hinge tabs with the grooves on the back of the base.

Slide the lid upward into the hinge slots.

If it resists, wiggle the hinge slightly as you continue sliding.

Stop when it clicks in and moves smoothly.

Attach the front latch:

Insert the top side of the latch into the lid at a slight angle.

Press or lightly squeeze the top until it snaps into place.

Keep the flat side facing outward so the lip curves toward the box.
