TrailMark3D is a web application that generates 3D printable terrain models from GPX files. Upload any GPX track from Strava, Garmin, Komoot, or other tracking apps and get a detailed topographic model ready for 3D printing, zero setup, no software to install, no CAD skills required.

Whether it's the summit you finally bagged, a century ride, a multi-day thru-hike, or your local loop, TrailMark3D turns the route you recorded into a physical object you can hold, display, or gift.

How it Works

1. Upload your GPX file to TrailMark3D.com
2. Choose your preferred model shape, size , rotation, map features, printing style
3. Generate your 3D terrain model (processing takes minutes depending on features, size, and resolution)
4. Download the STL/3MF file for 3D printing

Core Features

1. Web application - No installation or boilerplate setup needed. Just upload, tweak, and generate.
2. Shape options - Square, Circle, Hexagon
3. Map features - Terrain, Buildings, Roads, Water Bodies, Trail (from GPX)
4. Separated objects - Map features are separate objects inside the 3MF file, so objects can be printed separately. NO AMS NEEDED.
5. Multi-day adventure workflow - Upload up to 5 GPX files to combine your multi-day hike, ride, or any recorded adventure.
6. Job storage - Your latest generated 3D mesh is always stored in the database under your account, so you can always come back to redownload or modify your model.
7. Persistent 3D mesh generation - 3D mesh generation can take time. This feature lets you close your browser and come back anytime to download the generated 3D model.
8. Interactive 2D map view - Resize, rotate, or drag your choice of shape on a 2D map view.
9. Selective water body removal - You may or may not want to print some of the fetched water bodies. This tool lets you exclude water body segments from being generated.
10. Extension tiles - A single GPX is a single tile by default. You can extend the tiles by adding new tiles in the Interactive 2D Map View.
11. Jigsaw puzzle - Generate up to a 20×20 jigsaw terrain puzzle with full control over the jigsaw shape parameters and randomness.
12. Preset (Experimental) - Skip the tweaking by selecting the type of adventure for your GPX.
     
     

Free & Pro Tiers

The core features of TrailMark3D are completely free - no credit card, no expiry. With the free tier you get up to 10 downloads per month, grid resolution up to 200, all three shape options (Square, Circle, Hexagon), water features (Seas, Lakes, Rivers), through-hole water slots, water preview, tree line, activity presets, 3D trail animation, 3MF export, and custom colors.
 

The free tier limits are set around what the server can sustainably handle - 10 downloads/month and a resolution cap of 200 keep things running smoothly for everyone without blowing past my hosting budget. Pro upgrades go directly toward the server capacity that makes higher limits possible.

Upgrading to Pro unlocks everything in the free tier plus: unlimited downloads, grid resolution up to 500, shelf mode and water exclusion, shrink-below-trail, buildings and roads, multi-day trips (up to 5 days), priority processing, and early access to upcoming features.
