Retro Platform Floating Shelf Brackets

Bring a little retro gaming nostalgia to your space with this modular floating shelf bracket system.

Designed around classic brick blocks, mystery-inspired accent blocks, and decorative pipe supports, these brackets transform a standard shelf board into a unique display piece for collectibles, figures, gaming memorabilia, and room decor.

The system was designed to be easy to print, simple to assemble, and sturdy enough to support a standard decorative shelf board.

Shelf Used

This build was designed around the following shelf board:

Dakota™ 11-3/4” x 4’ Coastal Oak Prefinished Decorative Shelf

Dimensions:

• 11-3/4” Deep
• 48” Long
• Prefinished Coastal Oak

A similar shelf board with matching dimensions should also work.

Filament Used

Bricks were printed using:

iSANMATE Matte PLA – Brick Red

The matte finish works exceptionally well for the brick texture and helps hide layer lines while providing a clean finished appearance.

Assembly Notes

Most components are designed as a press-fit assembly.

For long-term durability, I recommend applying a small amount of CA glue to:

• Question mark insert
• R0-0 block assembly
• L0-0 block assembly
• Pipe dowels

The remaining components should assemble with a snug friction fit.
