A Gridfinity-compatible parametric battery storage tray for AA, AAA, CR2032, and 18650 cells, with vertical wells or horizontal open cradles.

Description

This customizable battery tray combines the corrected per-cell Gridfinity underside base with the battery storage layout from the standalone battery box model. It is designed for drawer grids, electronics benches, camera gear drawers, workshop storage, and battery organizers.

The default model is a 3x2 Gridfinity footprint sized for 8 AA cells. Vertical orientation creates compact round wells; horizontal orientation creates open cradle troughs so batteries remain visible and easy to lift out. The tray automatically caps the generated slot count to what fits inside the chosen Gridfinity footprint.

The underside uses one stepped rounded foot per 42 mm Gridfinity cell, with visible channels between cells. It intentionally excludes a lid, magnet holes, screw holes, labels, and decorative geometry to keep MakerWorld generation fast and the printed part practical.

Customization Notes

- `grid_x` and `grid_y` control the Gridfinity footprint.

- `height_units` controls total height in 7 mm Gridfinity units.

- Use vertical orientation for compact upright storage.

- Use horizontal orientation for cradle-style storage.

- Increase `clearance` if batteries are tight on your printer.

- Increase the grid size if the requested battery count exceeds the current footprint capacity.
