I bring to you a glasses/sunglasses case that features a magnetic latch mechanism, allowing one-hand operation.

It uses 3 12x3mm magnets to enable a tight locking/unlocking mechanism depending on the position of the latch.

Make sure to insert the magnets using the right polarity, such that one of them will attract the magnet in the latch—securing the case in the closed position—, while the other will repel it—pushing it away and, hence, opening the case.

In the print profile you will find two plates with one version each:

• “Independent_parts”. This plate prints the bottom and top parts independently, so you can print them in different colors. You will have to put them together to enable the hinge mechanism. Be aware that it might require some strength to insert the hinge in place.
• “Print_in_place”. This second plate features a print-in-place version. You won't have to put the top and bottom parts together, since they will be already printed together, with the hinge in place after printing. It might require a slight "breaking" by turning the hinge, just in case that the clearance is to tight for your printer resolution, but the parts should be apart enough to avoid melting and still providing the hinge natural rotating motion.

There is a lot of room for improvement/enhancing, and I will continue working on this model to provide more sizes, as well as softer inserts to keep the glasses even more secure inside the case.
