Use a small amount of lubricant oil for a smoother experience and longer a longer spin time. Lubricant oil tubes are included with all Bambu Labs printers.
I’ve done it -- I’ve finally made the perfect 3D-Printed Bearing. It uses 8 carefully crafted and prototyped rollers to evenly distribute the force when rotating, making this bearing much smoother than a standard joint. Most bearings you see out and about are ball bearings, but there is one big problem when it comes to 3d printing ball bearings. You can never get a perfect ball because layers are steps and the steps are short in the middle, but at the ends they are big. That is why I opted for roller bearings but these rollers just clump together at one side so I had to design a cage for them. The shape of the roller fits perfectly in into the inner and outer shell, keeping them in place. The cage is those pieces that you see in between the rollers but it is not that simple. They are all connected together with engineered bridging and other fancy tricks. The main reason why this was so challenging is because this fidget is entirely print in place. That means that it requires no external hardware or assembly, allowing you to just pop it off the build plate and start spinning. After over 50 versions of this model, it is finally done and It truly deserves the title of ‘Ultimate’. It has a clean aesthetic, with an interesting pattern spread across the sides and top, making it perfect for fidgeting with and keeping on display when not in use. Taking under 57 minutes and 15.02 grams of filament to print, this fidget bearing is ideal for anyone who enjoys a smooth yet compact spinner.
