Universal AMS Mini Spool Adapter – 250g Spool Compatible
Make your small filament spools AMS-ready.
This universal spool adapter is designed to allow smaller 250g filament spools to run smoothly inside the Bambu AMS. Mini spools are great for test prints, colour samples, and small projects, but many do not fit or roll correctly in the AMS without support.
This adapter helps solve that problem by increasing the spool size to a standard AMS-friendly outer diameter.

Why Use It?
Many 250g spools are too small or unstable for the AMS rollers, which can cause feeding issues, poor rotation, or spool slipping. This adapter gives smaller spools a larger, more AMS-compatible profile while maintaining a lightweight and practical design.
If you've purchased filament sample packs or 250g spools from Temu, AliExpress, or other suppliers, this adapter provides a simple solution to make them AMS compatible without respooling.
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 15–25%
- Supports: Not usually required
- Print Orientation: Flat on the build plate
Recommended AMS Performance Modification
For the best AMS performance, it is recommended to add a Height Modifier in your slicer starting at approximately 5 mm height and increase the infill to 100% for the centre section of the adapter.
This adds additional weight close to the hub of the spool, helping the adapter remain seated on the AMS drive rollers when the filament spool becomes nearly empty. The extra mass reduces the chance of the spool lifting out of the AMS slots, improving feeding reliability and minimising interruptions on long prints.
