Convert your standard 10-frame Langstroth hive boxes into an optimized 9-frame setup! Spacing 9 frames across a 10-frame body forces bees to draw out deeper, thicker honey combs. This makes uncapping with a knife dramatically easier and maximizes honey yield per frame.
This model features a 2-piece design, allowing it to easily fit on standard 256x256mm printer beds. It mounts cleanly inside the frame rest rabbet using small wood screws.
Print & Material Settings:
- Material: ASA, ABS or PETG is highly recommended. Standard PLA will warp in direct summer heat and degrade under hive conditions.
- Walls/Perimeters: 3 or 4 walls for strength around the screw mounts.
- Infill: 20% to 30% (Gyroid or Grid).
- Orientation: Print flat on the bed. No supports required.
Installation Notes:
- Clean any existing propolis or wax out of the box rabbets.
- Align the two halves in the center of the frame rest.
- Secure through the integrated mounting holes using small, flat-head wood screws.
