Hey everyone! I’m excited to share this personal project I’ve been working on! A fully motorized, con-ready Helldiver 2 Null Cipher helmet.
To solve the visibility issue, I motorized the faceplate and integrated a camera system so you can actually see out of it while walking the convention floor. Below, you'll find everything you need to recreate this build, including links to the base helmet from Galactic Armory, a full tech component list, and my custom Arduino code.
🛠️ Hardware & Tech
- Servos: The motorized brackets are specifically designed to be used with MG996R Servos. The helmet's faceplate is heavy, so these high-torque servos are necessary to lift it smoothly and reliably.

🖨️ Printing & Scaling Notes
- Recommended Filament: I highly recommend printing the mechanical pieces in ABS or PETG. These are load-bearing components, and stronger materials are needed to handle the stress of the servos.
- Important Scaling Note: The pieces that attach directly to the helmet were modeled to fit a helmet printed at 110% scale. If you need to size the helmet down to fit your head, please make sure you scale the attachment pieces down by the exact same percentage!
