Flathead catfish (Pylodictis olivaris) is a species of large native to the great lakes region in the northern United States to northern Mexico but it has become an invasive species in many other parts of the country. They can grow as large as 5 ft (155 cm) and 120 lbs (55 kg) making them the second largest catfish in North America behind the Blue Catfish. Females spawn in the summer and lay ~100,000 eggs per year.  The male will dig out the nest and then protect it after the eggs are laid. When they're small they eat only worms and other invertebrates. At 2 years old they start feeding almost exclusively on crayfish until age 6 when they switch over to a diet of only fish.

This model uses the same interlocking scale units that enables natural swimming motion. However this model does something a little different, it uses unprinted filament as the whiskers. Instead of modeling the whiskers directly onto the fish resulting in thin weak parts that would almost definitely snap off, I added small holes that filament can be inserted into. Just add a small amount of glue to each opening, insert the filament, and trim to your liking. I didn't have a speckled olive PLA to print in, but that would be the ideal filament for this print.
