I've considered getting back into writing and I wanted a more analog experience for readers, book binding is insanely expensive at a small scale and requires additional equipment. But Thermal 80mm receipt printers and receipt paper is very inexpensive and readily available, over time the text will fade after a few months - which is a feature I was looking for in this project and due to it's form factor it adds a layer of piracy protection.

An analog reader also requires a winder (which can easily be subbed with a common drill but you'll need to hold/match speed the entire time).
I've found around 70-75 pages in 8.5x11 being converted to receipt paper size is the maximum amount that this spooler can handle. Try to print your work upside down so you don't need to “rewind” every time.

I'm working on another version that will work a little more like a cartridge + won't require nuts/bolts/specialized hardware
