Modelo 3D Micro Gap Separation Test por JoshRobloxReview no MakerWorld

Descrição

🔍 About This Model

This is a micro-sized Thin Gap Separation Test designed to benchmark the exact limits of your 3D printer's precision. It features 6 independent test pins separated by increasingly narrow air gaps.

By printing this coin, you will learn exactly how thin of a gap your machine can successfully separate before the plastic bleeds together, making it the perfect quick test before attempting complex, "Print-in-Place" models.

📏 Gap Measurements

The test features 6 separation zones, ranging from standard clearances to extreme, high-precision thresholds:

  • Hole 1: 0.50mm (Easy / Standard)
  • Hole 2: 0.40mm
  • Hole 3: 0.30mm (Good baseline for tuned printers)
  • Hole 4: 0.25mm
  • Hole 5: 0.20mm (Advanced precision)
  • Hole 6: 0.15mm (Extreme benchmark)

(Note: If you scale this model down to 75% in your slicer, the gaps will scale down proportionally, shrinking the tightest gap to a microscopic 0.11mm for an ultimate torture test!)

🛠️ How to Use It

  1. Print the Coin: Use your standard profile. A $0.16\text{ mm}$ or $0.20\text{ mm}$ layer height works perfectly. No supports are needed.
  2. Remove from Bed: Let the build plate cool down completely before removing the model.
  3. Test the Pins: Use your thumb, an Allen key, or pliers to gently press or twist each pin. Otherwise they will pop or fall out themselves if you take it out.
  4. Read Your Results: The smallest pin that cleanly snaps loose and spins freely represents your printer's current maximum separation capability!

⚙️ Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS
  • Supports: None (Disabled)
  • Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid or Grid)
  • Wall Loops: 2 or 3
  • Speed: Standard outer wall speeds (slowing down outer walls slightly can improve gap accuracy)

⚠️ Warning & Caution: Choking Hazard

  • Loose Parts: Because this model tests total part separation, the pins are completely disconnected from the coin body. Once they break loose from the build plate or are pushed out, they will fall out completely.
  • Choking Hazard: The loose pins are very small and present a severe choking hazard. Keep this print completely away from small children and pets.
  • Launch Warning: When removing the coin from a flexible build plate or pressing the pins out for the first time, the pins can suddenly pop out and fly across the room. Press them out carefully over a desk or bowl so you don't lose them!
