Descrição
Build the perfect trellis for your garden with this fully customizable Garden Trellis Modular System!
This system was designed to work with readily available garden stakes, allowing you to create sturdy and expandable trellis structures for raised beds, vegetable gardens, climbing plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peas, and more. I've used this system throughout all of my raised garden beds, as shown in the photos.
Compatible Stakes
The system is designed to work with:
- Blue Ribbon 96" Sturdy Stakes
- Panacea 8' Green Plant Stakes
Both products are commonly available at Lowe's and Home Depot.
How It Works
The system uses a series of 3D-printed fittings that connect garden stakes into virtually any trellis configuration you can imagine.
Each fitting can be paired with specially designed threaded stake adapters that fit the compatible stakes perfectly. For maximum durability, the adapters should be glued to the stake ends during assembly.
You can also mix and match with standard PVC fittings:
- Purchase commercially available 1/2" PVC 3-Way, 4-Way, or 5-Way elbow fittings
- Print the included threaded PVC adapter
- Glue the adapter into the PVC fitting
- Connect it directly to the stake adapters
This gives you the flexibility to use either fully printed fittings, store-bought PVC fittings, or a combination of both depending on your project and printing preferences.
See the photos for examples of both assembly methods.

Printing Instructions
For long-term outdoor use, I strongly recommend printing all components using:
- PETG (recommended)
- ASA (best for maximum UV resistance)
Recommended slicer settings:
- Sparse Infill Density: 50%
- Sparse Infill Pattern: Gyroid
- X-Y Hole Compensation: +0.2 mm
- X-Y Hole Contour Compensation: -0.2 mm
- Supports: Enable Tree Supports
These settings have been tested to provide strong threads, reliable fitment, and excellent durability in outdoor garden environments.
Assembly Instructions
Preparing the Stakes
- Cut the garden stake to the desired length.
- Take a Rod Side Cap and place it inside a Rod Side Nut.

- Apply glue before insertion to permanently secure the cap inside the stake.
Using 3D-Printed Elbow Fittings
- Print the desired elbow fitting.

- Repeat for all stake connections.
Using Store-Bought PVC Fittings
- Obtain a standard 1/2-inch PVC elbow fitting.
- Print an Elbow Fitting Side Screw Adapter.
- Glue the screw adapter into the PVC fitting.
- Once the glue has cured, thread the Rod Side Nut onto the screw adapter.
