Stack-a-Burger! Modular Hamburger Toy for Kids 🍔
Hey everyone! I designed this fun, modular, and super safe Stack-a-Burger toy for the MakerWorld Children’s Design Contest.
As a maker (and someone who loves a good burger!), I wanted to create a toy that is completely worry-free for parents while being incredibly engaging for toddlers and young kids. It’s perfect for play kitchens, learning colors, developing fine motor skills, or just pretending to run a backyard grill!
Why Kids (and Parents) Will Love This:
- Super Simple Stacking (No Frustration): There are no complex magnets, or threads to align. Kids just stack the ingredients on top of each other. It’s perfect for tiny hands still developing their coordination.
- Make it a "Double-Double"! The beauty of 3D printing is customization. Want a classic cheeseburger? Print one of everything. Want a massive, towering secret-menu burger? Print two (or three!) of the meat patties and cheese slices. Your kid can build it exactly how they like.
- Built for Safety First:
- No Choking Hazards: Every single piece is designed to be large and chunky. There are zero tiny parts that a curious toddler can accidentally swallow.
- 100% Rounded Edges: I spent a lot of time in CAD smoothing out every single corner. There are absolutely no sharp edges or pointy bits, so kids won't poke themselves or scratch their skin during energetic play.
- Imaginative & Educational: It’s a great tool for teaching kids the names of ingredients, practicing counting (counting the layers), and encouraging open-ended role-play.
🛠️ Printing Tips & Recommendations
This model was designed from the ground up to be a very straightforward print.
- Supports: None! All pieces print flat on the bed without needing any support material, saving you filament and cleanup time.
- Material: I highly recommend using a high-quality, non-toxic PLA.
- Infill: 15% grid infill is plenty. It keeps the toy lightweight but durable enough to survive being tossed around the living room.
- Filament Colors Used in Photos:
- Top & Bottom Bun: Tan / Light Brown (warm beige)
- Meat Patty: Dark Brown
- Cheese Slice: Bright Yellow
- Lettuce: Grass Green
- Tomato: Crimson Red
If you and your kids enjoy printing and playing with this burger, I'd love to see your makes! Please drop a photo in the comments and consider leaving a rating for the contest. Happy printing!
