## Short Description
A sculptural U-shaped arc vase with two rising openings and a freely adjustable surface pattern.
By changing the pattern rotation angles, the same model can generate diamond patterns, straight line structures, woven textures, twisted patterns, and knurled designs.
This vase is a modern sculptural arc vase with a clear U-shaped form: two vertical vase openings are connected by a soft, rounded bend. From the front it looks like a reduced architectural object; from the side, the parametric surface pattern adds depth, movement, and a beautiful play of light to the shape.
## Description
The special part of this vase is the parametric pattern system. The surface is controlled by pattern diameter, pattern depth, pattern spacing, and two independent rotation angles. Even small changes to `pattern_rotation_1` and `pattern_rotation_2` can completely change the character: symmetrical diamond patterns, calm vertical or diagonal lines, woven grid structures, twisted textures, and knurled tool-like surfaces are all possible from the same base shape.
The most important adjustable parameters are right and left height, diameter, total width, bottom offset, wall thickness, pattern size, pattern depth, pattern spacing, and both pattern rotation angles. This makes the vase more than a single model; it becomes a small parametric design system: adjust the proportions, change the angle values, test the pattern, and create a new look.
The vase works especially well with matte PLA, silk PLA, marble PLA, stone-like filaments, or subtle gradient materials. The structure catches light beautifully and looks different depending on the viewing angle.
## Make Your Vase Unique
- Modern U-shaped vase with two openings
- Parametric, freely adjustable surface pattern
- Diamond, line, woven, twist, and knurled looks through the rotation angles
- Pattern diameter, pattern depth, and pattern spacing can be adjusted from fine to bold
- Many visual directions from the same base shape
- Works very well with single-color, matte, silk, marble, or gradient filament
## Pattern Customization
The two most expressive parameters are:
- `pattern_rotation_1`
- `pattern_rotation_2`
For classic diamond and cross patterns, mirrored values work well, for example `360 deg` and `-360 deg`. Higher opposing values create a denser, more woven pattern. If only one angle is strongly rotated while the other stays calmer, the result is a directional twist. Values closer to `0 deg` create calmer, straighter line patterns.
The other pattern parameters change the feel of the surface:
- `pattern_diameter`: larger values create bolder pattern cells
- `pattern_depth`: higher values create more shadow and stronger relief (pay attention to your selected wall thickness)
- `pattern_spacing`: controls how open or dense the pattern feels
Together, these settings can create very different surfaces: from a subtle modern line structure to a bold knurled design.
## Print Settings
Recommended starting point:
- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- Walls: 2-3 (pay attention to your pattern depth and leave enough wall thickness)
- Infill: 8-15%
- Supports: may be needed depending on size and pattern settings; check very large variants in the slicer
For a higher-quality feel, I recommend 3 walls and slightly slower outer walls. Matte or silky filaments work especially well for stronger light and shadow effects.
## Using It With Water
As with most printed vases, this model is best used for dried flowers, artificial flowers, or pure decoration. If you want to use fresh flowers with water, it is best to use a small glass tube/insert or seal the print carefully after printing.
## Printing Tips
- Use the included 3MF profile. I made many test prints, and these settings gave me the best results.
- If the texture looks too strong, reduce `pattern_depth` or increase `pattern_spacing`.
- For a stronger designer-object look, increase `pattern_depth` and `pattern_diameter`.
- For diamond patterns, use mirrored rotation values such as `360 deg` and `-360 deg`.
- For knurled surfaces, use stronger opposing rotations and a medium to small pattern diameter.
- For calmer line patterns, reduce one or both rotation values.
- Silk and gradient filaments emphasize twist, lines, and woven patterns especially well.
