Modelo 3D X2D riser + exhaust por panto no MakerWorld

Descrição

I designed this 20 mm riser with a 4-inch (100 mm) exhaust attachment integrated into the rear corner. The assembly uses M3 screws and M3 heat-set inserts, and I also designed a TPU gasket between the connecting parts to improve the air seal. You will need:

  • 6 heat-set inserts on the Corner Passthrough part
  • 4 M3x12 to connect the Duct Connector to the Corner Passthrough
  • 2 M3x30 to connect the Bottom Left Corner to the Corner Passthrough

Most of the parts were designed to print without supports, with the exception of the intake port on the bottom-left corner piece. The riser still raises the glass by 20 mm, which helps prevent the PTFE tube from bending at a sharp angle and dragging. Before this, I occasionally had issues with the AMS 2 Pro not being able to feed filament all the way to the print head, and this setup helped resolve that.

This design completely bypasses the X2D’s built-in exhaust fan and filter, pulling air directly from the print chamber to the outside instead. Since it bypasses the stock filter system, the inline fan can pull air more efficiently from the chamber, allowing it to run at lower speeds with less noise.

The exhaust port is also positioned near the top of the chamber, so natural convection helps move hot air out. With this setup, I can fully disable the built-in chamber auxiliary fans for even lower noise while still keeping the chamber temperature below 32 °C when printing PLA and PETG. This also maintains slight negative pressure inside the chamber, giving me peace of mind that particles are being pulled toward the exhaust instead of leaking into the room.

Of course, performance will depend on ambient room temperature, and since I mainly print PLA and PETG, I have not yet tested how well this setup performs with the chamber heater enabled.

I print in a small apartment with only one window and very limited airflow, so this felt like the best approach for my situation.
