Spool Weight (fits many coin types)

This filament spool weight is designed for use with Bambu filament spools to eliminate AMS filament retraction failures as the filament spool gets lighter. The spool is designed with two interior tubes that hold about 40-60 coins for weight. Any coins up to 21.5 mm in diameter can be used. An inner cover also retains the coins to make it easier to switch the weight from one spool to another. While the spool was designed for coins, you can use any type of heavy material that fits in the coin tubes. Depending on the coins you choose, the final spool typically weighs 200-300g (I got 225g with US pennies and 300g with US nickels). I don't recommend using batteries for weight as these tend to leak with time.

Use any coins up to 21.5mm in diameter for weight (US 1, 5, 10 cents, Euro 1, 2, 5, 10 cents, etc.)
An inner cap to retain coins (or other weight material) when changing from one spool to another
The spool has wider and ridged outer cap for easier gripping
A center grip ridge on both inner and outer caps makes twisting easier
A tool that fits the caps is included in case of over tightening
