Stackable Grid Battery Box - Fully Parametric

 

You can make battery boxes very easily and quickly. You can store any type of battery in them.

Parametric Settings Guide

This model is fully customizable. Adjust the following parameters to fit your specific battery needs:

Battery Configuration

  • Battery Type: Choose between Cylindrical (AA, AAA, 18650) or Rectangular (9V, LiPo packs).
  • Battery Count (X/Y): Define how many rows and columns of batteries the box should hold.

Battery Dimensions

  • Batt D or W: The diameter (cylindrical) or width (rectangular) of the battery.
  • Batt Depth: The depth of the battery (only used for rectangular types).
  • Batt H: The total height of the battery.

Box & Divider Settings

  • Wall Thickness: The thickness of the outer protective walls.
  • Divider Thickness: The thickness of the internal separators.
  • Bottom Thickness: The thickness of the box floor.
  • Fit Clearance: Extra wiggle room around each battery for easy insertion.
  • Divider Height Ratio: Sets the internal wall height (0.1 = low rim, 1.0 = full height). Lower values make batteries easier to grab!

Stacking System

  • Stack Lip: The height of the interlocking rim. This ensures boxes sit securely on top of each other.
  • Stack Clearance: Tolerance between stacked boxes to prevent them from seizing.

Handle Options

  • Handle Type External: Toggle between External Wings (True) or Integrated Cutouts (False).
  • Handle Size (H/W): Adjust the height and width of the handles.
  • Handle Top Dist: Distance from the top of the box to the handle center.
  • Handle Extension: How far the external handles protrude from the side.

Pro Tip: If you want a slim look for standard AA batteries, set the Divider Height Ratio to 0.4 or 0.5 so you can easily pinch the top of the batteries to pull them out!
