This model is customizable to any number of spools. spool width,  and any size spool (within reason, bigger spools require deeper bins).

Gridfinity wire spool/solder holder, I built one for wall board but have a bunch of solder spools and wire spools, that I would like to put in a drawer.  So I built on that design and dropped it into the Gridfinity platform.

I had very large rolls from Amazon, but you can size it to any spool and width.   The model will size the Gridifinity plate to what you need, you can also have more than one spool (I only printed this as an example).

Here are the parameters you can modify.

The set of parameters you can choose from.

• Number of Spools - how many spools will the Holder have.
• Spool Dia - The outer diameter of the wire spool, may want to add an extra mm or 2.
• Spool Hole Dia - The diameter of the spool hole (this defines the roller size).
• Spool Width - how wide is the spool from side to side (mm).
• Wall Thickness - How thick do you want the walls (mm), between spools
• Grid Z Override, if you want a Z height (7mm units), different than the calculated version.  It only takes if larger than the calculated value.
• Hole Offset - probably should be named better, this is the offset to raise or lower the side hole that the spool rests on.  Sometimes the wires could be overstuffed and you wanted it raised slightly.

• Wire Hole Radius - Radius of the cutout hole in the front wall, size this to your preference.

   

Notes:   

The screw that is created in the generation, has a head that will fit the side hole.  The head size is half the wall thickness.   So don't make the walls to thin.   You an add modifiers to strengthen it.  You may have add these if you have having issues getting it into the cylinder.

Make the spool size a few mm larger than you measure, I found if to tight that the wire may bind.

The feed hole in the front (the red piece is printed separately.   You can glue it in, I did this so you won't need supports.
