📦 Parametric Storage Box (OpenSCAD)

Clean, customizable storage — made to fit exactly what you need

I designed this parametric storage box as a simple but flexible solution for organizing everyday items.

There are already many boxes out there—but I wanted something where everything can be adjusted easily in one place, from overall size to compartments and lid design.

⚙️ How it works

When you open the file, you can fully control how the box is built.

🔹 Core parameters

Generate mode
Choose whether to generate:

• Box only
• Lid only
• Or both

Box dimensions
Control the overall size:

• Width
• Depth
• Height

This allows you to design anything from small organizers to larger storage containers.

Wall thickness
Adjust how thick the walls should be.

• Thicker → stronger, more durable
• Thinner → faster prints, lighter design

Compartments
Choose how many compartments the box should have.

• From 1 up to 6 (or more if you extend it)

Perfect for organizing:

• Tools
• Desk items
• Kitchen supplies
• 3D printing accessories

🔸 Lid settings

The lid is fully parametric as well.

Lid thickness
Control how solid the lid feels.

Text on lid / box
You can add custom text:

• On the lid
• On the side of the box

Great for labeling contents or personalizing your design.

Text depth & size
Adjust how deep and large the text is engraved.

Clearance / fit
Fine-tune how tight the lid fits:

• Loose fit → easy to remove
• Tight fit → more secure closure

Divider top gap
Controls the distance between the compartment dividers and the lid.
This ensures everything fits nicely when the lid is closed.
