Modelo 3D Auer assortment boxes - plain por retired_ir no MakerWorld

Descrição

Description

These are insert boxes for Auer Packaging assortment boxes.

They have been re-engineered to allow more flexible use than the standard injection molded boxes Auer Packaging sells. They are fully backward compatible with the Auer Packaging boxes and most importantly the assortment boxes that you can put these bins inside.

This version of the boxes contains the boxes in sizes 1x1, 2x1, 2x2, 3x2, and 3x3. One of each on the plates, clone them as needed.

This version features:

  • Full height like the original Auer bins.
  • Fully stackable regardless of size: you can stack larger insert boxes on top of smaller ones and they'll lock in place.
  • Print without any need for support
  • No need to assemble or glue parts together
  • Fits the Auer Packaging grid
  • Fully backward compatible with the Auer Packaging assortment boxes and their insert boxes.

Printing

  • Important: The slicer must not be set to automatically pick the direction for bridges as it will make extremely long bridges. This WILL lead to print failures. Instead set it at 45 degrees to keep the bridge length under control.  This is set properly in my print profile. Do NOT set it to 0 (automatic)!
  • I printed mine in PLA, but PETG or such will be more than fine as well. Try to avoid plastics that shrink too much as you'll get warping due to the size of larger boxes.
  • Make sure to have a clean print plate (water and soap)
  • Use glue as needed for your plate/filament combo.

Why not gridfinity?

I understand the love for gridfinity, and I do like the system. So why did I chose to make a somewhat similar system ? I wanted the larger assortment boxes with their fully transparent PC lids that Auer Packaging sells. Also the amount of time and filament a printer needs to print things like the popular schuylab boxes felt wrong when I could just buy injection molded ones that were a better match with my needs. But hey - if you like gridfinity better: I fully understand. To each their own.

Design goals:

  • Backward compatible with the Auer Packaging system
  • Stacking insert boxes on top of one another even if their sizes are a bit of a mismatch
  • More options like labels, fingerslides, half height, lids, separator walls, etc. [yes those are all in the pipeline]
  • Fully parametric originals in openscad [not included at this time, I will release it later - I need/want some feedback first]
  • Keep amount of filament and printer wear and tear under control.
  • No need to print the containers, and have fully transparent injection molded lids on those outer containers.
