Switch 2 Wall Mount & Game Organizer (Heavy Duty)
I designed this wall mount for the Switch 2 because I wanted something completely solid that wouldn't sag, stretch, or snap over time. It securely holds the console dock and has slots up front for 12 game cartridges.
A few notes on the design:
- No sharp internal corners: I added a small circular relief cut where the back wall meets the bottom shelf. Sharp 90-degree angles are usually where 3D prints snap under a heavy load, so this cut spreads the stress out and keeps the bracket super rigid.
- Easy fit: The dock itself is 51.5mm wide, so I modeled the shelf at about 53mm. It drops in smoothly without scraping the sides, but still looks flush.
- Visible game labels: The cartridge slots are about 10mm deep. They hold the games securely, but leave enough of the cartridge sticking out so you can actually grab them and read the titles.
- Mounting: The screw holes are chamfered so standard drywall or wood screws will sit perfectly flush without wedging the plastic apart.
Print Recommendations (The included .3mf has all my settings):
- Material: I highly recommend using PETG (I used Overture Black). If you use standard PLA, it will eventually warp and stretch under the constant weight of the console.
- Nozzle: I sliced this for a 0.6mm nozzle. It pushes a lot of plastic, saves time, and gives the part a ton of extra strength.
- Walls & Infill: I went with 5 wall loops and 15% Gyroid infill. With a 0.6mm nozzle, those 5 walls create a solid 3mm shell that does basically all the heavy lifting. If you switch to a 0.4mm nozzle, just up the number of wall loops to 7 or 8 to get the similar wall thickness. The 15% Gyroid just acts as a clean, strong internal skeleton.
