Needed a way to mount my 2 Keyhole Screw mount battery chargers to Multiboard (https://multiboard.io). Found out with two different Ryobi ones had different head thickness, distances and other nuances. So I created a way to create a customized solution to fit several mounting systems, hole distances, etc. You also don't have to worry about lining up the holes, just measure the distance between the two and its done. And Ryobi supplies the distance on the back of the charger.
I use a Multiconnect Slot to handle Multiboard, HSW and OpenGrid (see below), and a Pegboard slot for Pegboards and Skadis. I also added additional material to the shaft for additional sturdiness.
So here are the parameters (all in mm):
- Slot Type: Multiconnect, Pegboard, Skadis, Test (explained later).
- Head Diameter: head diameter, how wide should the head be (mm)
- Head Thickness: How thick should the head be, careful here, had one that was more narrow as you went in.
- Shaft Diameter: diameter of the shaft part of the keyhole.
- Shaft Length: the length of the shaft from the back to the edge of the head.
- Peg Offset: can raise or lower Peg on the backing (really for a future feature).
- Peg Center to Center: Distance from the center of one Peg to the other. Your hole spacing.
- Back Width: how wide is the strip (mm), default of 30 works, but had some that needed to be smaller.
- Back Thickness: additional distance added to the back, found one that had a lip that needed to be cleared.
For Mounting use one of the following.
- Multiconnect - Multiboard ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/642696-multiconnect-generic-connector-for-multiboard?from=search](https://makerworld.com/en/models/642696-multiconnect-generic-connector-for-multiboard?from=search))
- Multiconnect - OpenGrid ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/1207512-opengrid-full-lite-multiconnect-multiboard-adapter?from=search](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1207512-opengrid-full-lite-multiconnect-multiboard-adapter?from=search))
- Multiconnect - HSW ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/642702-multiconnect-honeycomb-storage-wall-hsw?from=search#profileId-726943](https://makerworld.com/en/models/642702-multiconnect-honeycomb-storage-wall-hsw?from=search#profileId-726943))
- Pegboard Mount (need the thin Multiboard pegboard clicks [https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/Pegboard%20Click%20-%20Lite%20Multipoint%20Rail%20%28Folded%29-1368649](https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/Pegboard%20Click%20-%20Lite%20Multipoint%20Rail%20%28Folded%29-1368649))
Skadis (need the thin connectors [https://makerworld.com/en/models/1068888-multipoint-x-skadis-hook#profileId-1058391](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1068888-multipoint-x-skadis-hook#profileId-1058391))
Notes:
- There is a Test Selection, that creates a single Peg and small back based on your parameters, so that you can run off a much smaller piece for testing and not waste a lot of filament.
- For really heavy items, I added modifiers in the *.3mf around the pegs to increase the walls and infill. These give sturdier pegs, for hanging and insertion.
- Also look carefully at the Keyholes, I found one that had a internal slope, so I measured at the front, but it wouldn't go in, because the head needed to be thinner.
- If you make the BackWidth very wide, it will realign the slots for either Multiboard or Pegboard, the alignment will be off for the others.
