Descrição
The Open Bench Rail project.
The OBR project includes corner frames for standard DIN rails.
Hardware:
- DIN Rail (7.5 mm, B. 35mm)
- M6 Flathead screws
This system can be mounted on a M6 grid plate (25mm spacing) or drilled on a flat surface.

The length can be freely adjusted and for very long runs there are optional center angles:

It also encompasses a series of interchangeable components and modules you can put on the DIN rails and freely arrange and move them around. I will periodically upload new modules but also encourage everyone to come up with their own pieces!
The base bracket is available → here as .STEP file to start.
(if you create your own, shoot me a DM and I can put it on the collection list)
Available modules include:
- LED momentary button
- Kalih keyboard switch
- Rotary endcoder
- Potentiometer
- Joystick
- … and many more to come!

Check the → Open Bench Rail Collection.
In my ESP32 projects I incorporate different components. Sometimes touch displays, sometimes different types of hardware buttons, motion sensors, etc. This system allows me to just quickly snap the components and controller I need on the rail, arrange them, hook them up and start prototyping. It is a lot nicer then having everything "laying around". And with my grid plate with handles I can also comfortably carry everything around. Should that need arise. 😉
Obviously this system is 100% optional. But working with it for a couple of weeks now I can say it makes hardware prototyping so much more enjoyable and structured! 🫶
