Doing a large project to Multiboard ([https://multiboard.io](https://multiboard.io))/Gridfinity ([https://Gridfinity.xyz](https://Gridfinity.xyz)) my garage.   I have these really long wood files, that I now longer wanted to hang, but wanted to place on my Gridfinity bases.  The other thing was the grid length was at least 8 Grids, which if the length of an entire 256x256 bed.   To me that's a lot of wasted filament.   So I created end pieces that hold one end, and then the other.

I have uploaded the STLs for the file holder.

But I also have included an OpenSCAD file, that will allow you to create different long shapes.   These can hold screw drivers, socket drivers, wrenches, etc.   I also allow you to create deep bins if you need them, for other items like drives, etc.

Currently have some simple shapes, like Rectangles, Cylinders and Cones (Ellipsoids).   You can also create a small cylinder for a shaft, etc.

The parameters are pretty self explanatory.   But I will cover a few here.

• Type:  Cylinder/Rectangle/Cone(Ellipsoid, looks like a handle tapered about both ends)
• Grid X : how many Grids wide
• Grid Y:  how many Grids long
• Grid Z: how many U high (7mm) increments, min 3.
• Include Lip : true/false

There is an optional shaft that can be added, before any of the other shapes.  

• Shaft Notch: true/false
• Shaft Diameter: shaft diameter
• Shaft Length: shaft length

Note: you can create lengths that will exceed the bin, there are no checks yet.  This will be a future enhancement to size based on parameters.

Future: 

• Different shapes for the ends, such as socket heads and wrench heads.
• Autosizing for the Y Grid, possibly all 3.
• Text in the corner
