Introducing the Modular LED Workshop Light Rail by Advantek — a clever, low-cost lighting system designed to transform a simple 15 mm aluminium profile into a fully customizable LED ramp.
This system is built around a minimalist yet highly efficient concept: no glue, no complex assembly—only precision-fit inserts and modular spacing. It allows you to create a lighting solution perfectly adapted to your workspace, whether for electronics, photography, or general workshop use.
Concept
Instead of using a continuous LED strip, this design uses segmented LED slots (3 LEDs per segment) spaced at regular intervals (~40 mm), powered through a clean and scalable wiring system.

Fully Customizable Length
Define exactly how many LED slots you need and build your light rail accordingly. Whether short or long, the system adapts to your workspace.
No Glue – Pure Mechanical Assembly
All components are held together using:
- 2x End Caps (printed)
- Multiple Spacers (printed)
Everything fits directly into the aluminium profile—clean, reliable, and reusable.
Modular Spacer System
Each spacer:
- Maintains LED positioning (~40 mm per slot)
- Guides the power cables internally
- Ensures perfect alignment
Clean Cable Management
Cables are routed through spacers like a string of pearls, then guided in a zig-zag path inside the aluminium profile, exiting cleanly through a dedicated 4 mm hole integrated into each spaccers as well into the End Caps for fully integrated wiring.
Efficient Thermal Design
The aluminium profile acts as a passive heat sink, improving LED lifespan and performance.
Secure Mounting
Each End Cap is designed to be fixed with:
- 2x screws (approx. Ø2 mm body, 7 mm head)
This ensures a stable and durable installation on any surface.
Design & Development

This workflow ensures:

Assembly Protocol
- Define your setup
- Decide how many LED slots you need
- Print components
- 2x End Caps
- X spacers (equal to number of LED slots)
- Prepare wiring
- Thread cables through spacers (like a necklace)
- Position on aluminium profile
- Place spacers and LEDs
- Use End Caps to determine final length
- Cut aluminium profile
- Adjust to exact required length
- Cable routing
- Route cable in zig-zag inside profile
- Exit through 5 mm hole in aluminium profile and pass the cable through the End Cap
- Final assembly
- Insert End Caps
- Secure with screws
