Fluttering Butterfly – 3D Wind Spinner 🦋🌬️
I present a wind spinner design that literally comes to life with every breeze. The organic shapes of the butterfly are combined here with a well-thought-out mechanism, ensuring the model is fully functional and dynamic. When the wind blows, the blades enter a smooth rotational motion that drives the system, causing the butterfly wings to flutter realistically. It's a design where every part has its purpose, converting rotation into a beautiful natural motion.
🛠️ Assembly Instructions
Assembling the model is intuitive; just follow these steps:
1. Bearings: You will need two 607zz or 607rs bearings. Seat them firmly into the sockets in the base.

Mechanism: Place the pin in the slider and in the eccentric wheel. Place the whole assembly into the base guide. Then, slide the shaft through the bearings and lock it securely into the eccentric wheel.

Butterfly: Place the butterfly body and its wings onto the base.

Rockers: Attach the rockers (linkages) between the mechanism slider and the butterfly wings.

Rotor: Fix the fan blades onto the rotor/shaft.

Handle: Finally, attach the mounting handle to the base, tighten it with screws, and you're done!

💡 Printing Tips
- Assembly: For maximum stability, it is recommended to secure all non-moving connections with glue.
- Filament: The model will work with any type of filament (e.g., PLA). However, if you care about long-term durability outdoors, I recommend using weather and UV-resistant materials like PETG or ASA.
