I got tired of having my skates slide out of the cupboard I keep them in. This simple stand fixes this by allowing you to "park" your skates vertically anywhere. It's inspired by the typical aluminum stands lots of brands provide to shops, and exists because I found no existing 3D prints that ticked all the boxes for me. A few highlights:
- They work for all wheel sizes. For wheels smaller than 80mm, skated will be elevated, but stay stable. For 100mm and above, the frame won't rest on the stand, but wheels will still be held tight enough.
- It's snug for the wheels at 23.5mm wide, they stay on when you pick up the skates! Lift, move around, put down.
- The base is wide enough to keep the skates from falling over easily.
- Less likely to scratch your skates compared to aluminum versions.
I printed them with purple Elegoo PETG-CF initially for strength, but regular PLA is more than fine. Recommended print settings (45min print time for me):
- 0.2mm layers (usually default)
- No brim, no supports (usually default)
- 3 wall loops (to avoid the upper structure from being hollow)
- 6 bottom layers, 6 top layers (to make the bottom plate solid)
Pictures, comments and remixes are welcome. Enjoy!
Edit: Added special "Inercia" branded edition for the skate shop's 20th anniversary, including a dual color option.
