Descrição
A sleek, modular shelving system designed for modern interiors. These cubes feature a 30mm corner radius for a clean "retro-future" aesthetic and utilize an integrated magnetic grid for easy stacking and alignment.
Key Features:
- Magnetic Grid: Designed for 10x3mm magnets in a 2x2 layout. This allows for aligned stacking.
- Optimized Strength: 10mm wall thickness provides a solid feel while keeping material usage low.
- Parametric: Created in OpenSCAD for perfect adjustability.
Print Settings:
- Infill: 5% Adaptive Cubic for best structural integrity at a low weight (~450g).
- Orientation: Print lying down (open front/back facing up/down) to eliminate the need for supports.
🧲 Magnetic Connection Guide / Montage-Anleitung
Important: The magnet holes are designed with a tight tolerance. If your printer is well-calibrated, you can "Press-Fit" them. However, since neodymium magnets are very strong, I highly recommend using a drop of superglue (CA glue) or epoxy. Otherwise, the magnets might be pulled out of their sockets by their counterparts when you rearrange the boxes!
Option A: Simple Polarity (Recommended if you already started)
This method is straightforward and works perfectly by rotating or flipping the cubes. (for offset stacking use option B)
- Logic: All 4 magnets on a single face have the same polarity.
- Setup:
- TOP face: 4x North
- BOTTOM face: 4x South
- LEFT face: 4x North
- RIGHT face: 4x South
- How to use: Since the cube is 250x250mm and open-front/back, you can simply flip or rotate any box to match the polarity of the adjacent box. It’s like a simple puzzle! No offset stacking!
Option B: Universal Checkerboard (The "Pro" Way)
Use this if you want maximum flexibility. Every box will fit on every other box in any orientation (even offset by 50%) without thinking.
- Logic: Each 2x2 grid uses alternating poles.
- The Pattern:
- Top Left: North
- Top Right: South
- Bottom Left: South
- Bottom Right: North
- Benefit: This pattern is rotationally symmetrical. No matter how you turn the box, it always fits! No offset stacking!
💡 Pro Tips for Assembly:
- The "Magnet Stack" Tool: Use a stack of magnets as a handle to press them into the holes. If the fit is too tight, use a flat tool (like the back of a screwdriver) to push them in flush.
- Glue: If you use superglue, apply a tiny drop into the hole before inserting the magnet. Let it outgas in a well-ventilated area to avoid white residue on matte filaments.
- Test before glue: Always hold two boxes together before the glue cures to ensure they actually attract and don't repel!
