Based on my other model [https://makerworld.com/en/models/1619863-embroidery-thread-saver-new-brothread#profileId-1709781](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1619863-embroidery-thread-saver-new-brothread#profileId-1709781) I decided to create a fully parametric version from scratch to make thread tidies for other spools.

Get a pair of calipers (or a ruler) and as accurately as possible measure the following:

• SpoolOuterDiameter - The diameter of the spool itself, this should be the biggest measurement
• SpoolInnerInternalDiameter - The diameter of the hole in the spool (inside)
• SpoolInnerExternalDiameter - For spools with a tube like protrusion this is the outside diameter of the tube (For spools that are completely flat just add a little bit to the inner diameter to support the lip)
• HoleDiameter - The size of the final hole in th thread save so you can still get this on a machine (should be at least 1mm smaller than SpoolInnerInternalDiameter)
• HoleDepth - How deep inside the spool do you want to go - 6mm is a good value here
• Gap - Set this to 0 if you want the thread tidy to be flush to the bottom of the spool or 0.2/0.4 if you want some help threading it up (useful for thicker threads)
• If you need some extra grip on tube spools there is an option Grip.
  • GripThickness - the thickness of the grip
  • GripDepth - How deep do you want the grip
• WiggleRoom - Now you may print it a little tight so play with a 0.05-.2 wiggle room to help get the grip just right
