A customizable box that prints with the top up, so that a relief sculpture, logo, text, or anything else can be printed on top of the lid. Combining another model with the lid can be easily done in Bambu Studio---see the instructions at the end of this description. The box features a sliding lid with a snapping latch mechanism that holds it securely closed, and an internal divider that can be moved, modified, or removed through the customization. The box can be customized by choosing the length, width, height, and many more detailed parameters including wall thickness and the size of the latch mechanism. 

Instructions:

Customizing: Click “Customize” to open the parametric model maker and choose the desired length, width, and height. These are the dimensions of the internal compartment, so the overall box will be slightly larger due to the walls and the ledge on top that holds the lid in place. Also choose the location and height of the divider (expressed as a percentage of the box interior length and height), or set the divider height to 0 to remove it. Change other parameters only if you want to tinker with the details of the box. 

Importing into Bambu Studio: After opening in Bambu Studio, the lid and box bottom will be grouped into a single object. Right click and select “Split → To objects” to separate them. Then separate them so they do not overlap on the plate. 

Adding a model to the top of the lid: In the “Prepare” view, right-click on the lid and select “Add part” then “Load…” and choose the file. Then you can scale/rotate/move the model so it is positioned on top of the lid before printing. To select the part, switch to the “Objects” view in the panel on the left, then select the part that is nested under the lid object. 

Getting relief sculptures and other models:

There is a terrific relief sculpture generator on Makerworld that can be used to produce a relief sculpture from any image. To use it, set the thickness to 1mm, and then place the sculpture so the “plate” is just below the surface of the lid. Take care that the plate does not extend into the cutouts of the latch mechanism. This generator also has a “logo” setting that will produce a model of a logo from a picture. 

Bambu Studio has built-in functionality to add text. Simply select the lid and click the Text Shape icon in the toolbar, and then choose the text, font, and other settings.
