The original model, like Super Customizable Rugged Box in OpenSCAD, is basically driven by length, width and height so you’re just stretching the box to fit whatever you need.
My design flips that around. Instead of starting with the box, it starts with the ammo. You pick the caliber and the round count in steps of 10, and the internal layout builds itself around those dimensions. The outer shell then scales to suit that layout.


The big reason for doing it this way was print quality. Traditional grid patterns tend to cause short stops, blobs and messy line starts depending on the filament type and brand (see below). So I focused on creating a more continuous flow path in the internal structure to keep the extrusion smooth and consistent.
