Resurrection Easter Eggs
This set of twelve eggs are meant to be a way to walk through the events of holy week with your family. Each egg contains an item that you can use to explain the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. You can number them from one to twelve and put the corresponding pieces in the right egg. After your kids have found them all you then sit down with them and open them one by one, explaining what each piece represents. I designed these for use with my family and a few family friends wanted some, so I'm posting them here for all of you! The brief layout of the story along the pieces of the eggs is as follows (The print profile for the eggs is also included).
Eggs 1-12:
(Item in the egg) (Representation and verse)
- The Donkey and the palm leaf. (These represent Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem) (Matthew 21:1-11)
- (NOT PRINTED, Use some cloth or paper towel) Jesus washes the Disciples' feet (John 13:1-20)
- Cup and Bread (The Last Supper) (Matthew 26:20-34)
- Silver coins (Judas Betrays Jesus) (Matthew 26:14-19)
- Praying Hands (Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane) (Matthew 26:36-46)
- The Sword (Jesus Arrested/Peter defends Him) (Matthew 26:47-56)
- The Rooster (Peter denies Jesus) (Matthew 26:69-75)
- Crown of Thorns (Jesus is mocked and flogged) (Matthew 27:11-32)
- The Cross (Jesus is Crucified) (Matthew 27:33-54)
- The Spear (The soldier confirms that Jesus died) (John 19:34-35)
- The Stone that was rolled in front of the tomb (Jesus' burial) (Matthew 27:57-66)
- Empty (This egg is empty because the tomb was empty, Jesus is risen) (Matthew 28:1-10)
This is the set that I have created and the corresponding verses to tell the greatest story ever, Jesus' death and resurrection.
I recomend printing the eggs with supports ( I have minimized how many, but it helps the print to stick to the plate.
The supports on the crown of thorns can be a little difficult to remove, but I did not have and issues with the print breaking.
Some parts need AMS
I will include two print profiles for the eggs, one will be printed with a .08 layer hight and the other will be at a .12 mm layer hight. The finer print will screw together smoother, but takes much longer to print. The other one screws on fine, but may feel a little grindy the first few times.
I hope that you like this as we celebrate that Jesus is Risen!
