Purge Shot
This is a mechanical TOY designed to give your "printer poops" a second life as flying projectiles. Developed specifically for the Purge contest, it turns your waste bucket into a resource stash. The launching distance varies depending on your setup.
The Details
- Performance: The "muzzle velocity" depends entirely on the length and tension of your rubber bands. You can tune it for your needs.
- Durability: We’ve reinforced the critical stress points on the barrel to handle the tension. As long as you aren’t using industrial-grade bungee cords, it’ll hold up to heavy use.
- Filament: We highly recommend PLA Tough or PETG. Standard PLA might work for the shell, but for a long lifespan under tension, you’ll want that extra durability.
- Safety: Do NOT aim at people or pets. Use common sense so nobody gets harmed.
Needed Materials
- 2x Medium rubber bands
- 1x Short rubber band
- Double-sided tape (Recommended)
Assembly Instructions
1. Prep: Carefully remove all support material from the printed parts.

2. Attach the short rubber band to the trigger cutout:

3. Insert the trigger and the triangular "pusher" into one half of the stock:

4. Align and snap the two stock halves together.

5. Place the slider mechanism into the barrel track & slide the barrel assembly onto the stock until it locks into place. Use double-sided tape to ensure a secure fit.

Troubleshooting:
- If bands are snapping off: The tension is likely too low. Switch to a tighter band or double-loop the band.
Design Note: Non-realistic, stylized geometry+proportions used to distinguish this gadget from any actual hardware.
