3D model Bookmark Flush Objects by nezumiChan on MakerWorld

Description

I needed a flush/purge object for shorter height multi-color prints. Created in OnShape, these bookmarks are 1.75mm tall and can replace 8-10g (+/-) of wasted filament with each bookmark.

The front/plate side of each design features a pattern cutout, the back is solid.

Add the bookmark to the plate and select geometry only. Enable all 3 Purge options on each bookmark added to the plate (Objects infill, object, support).

I start by adding one bookmark, then slice the plate and check the amount of flushed filament in the Preview. Continue adding flush objects and re-slicing until your flushed amount is 0.

You can change the filament print order options on the plate and get different colors printed on the flush objects. I re-arrange the color sequences and re-slice to preview what the bookmarks will look like before printing. What shapes and colors the slicer chooses to flush into are somewhat random.

If printing face down (how the profiles are oriented) make sure to adjust your bridge settings to ensure cleaner bridging across the patterns. You can see in the “Gears” bookmark photo where I neglected to change my bridge settings. I set the Bridge flow to 1.5 and Bridge speed to 10mm/s on the bookmark objects, rather in the Global settings. You may need to adjust these to your printing environment.

If your color changes are occurring on the top layers instead, flip the bookmarks over and orient the pattern to the top surface.

Re-scale in any plane/direction as needed. The recess in each pattern is ~40% of the overall height.
