3D model Stackable spool spacer by Jimgoo on MakerWorld

Description

Maximize your shelf space! Easily stack filament spools vertically with these simple, printable spacers—no more tangled piles or wasted room. This is an updated design with self-aligning pegs on both sides to allow for even more stability.

Problem

Stacked filament spools rub, slide, roll, and generally behave like they’ve had too much caffeine.

Solution

A tiny, lightweight spacer that fits over the Bambu Lab spool hub and keeps stacked spools separated without wasting filament or print time.

Why not just stack spools?

You can — but spacers:

  • Prevent spools from rubbing and binding
  • Keep stacks more stable if bumped
  • Make it easier to grab a single spool
  • Don't use a lot of filament

Why this design

  • Minimal filament usage (less than 20g per spacer)
  • Fast print (under an hour)
  • No rods, no towers, no moving parts
  • Sized for Bambu Lab / AMS-compatible spools but works on Sunlu V3 and even printable refill spools
  • Works on shelves, in closets, or storage bins
  • Supports required, but not difficult to remove

This is intentionally boring. Boring works.

Use case

Perfect for:

  • Closet shelves
  • Open shelving
  • Budget filament storage

Anyone who doesn’t want to print a filament organizer that uses half a spool of filament!!
