Description

Jack Stand Pad - Universal (Parameter Driven)

I designed this Jack Stand Pad to be adjustable to allow for customization for any jack with a round top pad. As submitted, these fit my aluminum screw jacks with a 48 mm top pad, but you'll likely want to adjust these to fit your particular situation.

Consequently, I've included the reference FreeCAD models that are completely parameter driven.

If you'd like to customize these models for your own situation:

  •    Download FreeCAD ([https://www.freecad.org](https://www.freecad.org)) and install it on your computer.
  •    Download the Jack Pad 20260323.FCStd file from MakerWorld and open it in FreeCAD.
  •    Click once on the “{VarSet}” line (on the left side in FreeCAD), and then adjust the parameters (see photo and below) for your specific requirements. Note you can rotate by clicking on the “cube” in the top right to see your changes.
  •    Click once on the “Body”, then choose “File…Export” and choose “STL" (or “STEP” if you prefer)
  •    Go into Bambu Studio and select “File…New Project”
  •    Then select “File…Import” and adjust so the pad “face” is on the bottom (no supports are needed), then slice and print as normal.

I wanted pads that were a friction fit (so they could be removed / replaced easily but also wouldn't just flop around) and I didn't want the complexity of magnets (as I anticipate these will get scratched / damaged with use and that I'll need to print new ones on a regular basis, and of course they also wouldn't work on aluminum).

Available Parameters

Base_Thickness (default 4 mm) - this is the thickness of the pad face itself.

Inner_Diameter (default 48 mm) - this is the one value you'll want to adjust to fit your particular situation. Just measure the diameter of your pad in mm and enter that here.

Rim_Height (default 10 mm) - you may want to adjust this if you have a very thick pad. If so, you can make the rim taller by adjusting this value.

Rim_Thickness (default 3 mm) - this will adjust how “thick” the cylinder is that fits around your pad. You probably won't need to adjust this value.

Again, you really probably only need to adjust the “Inner_Diameter” for your particular situation (but of course feel free to experiment with the others if you'd like).

IMPORTANT: In the Bambu file (Jack Pad 20260323-Body.BAMBU.3mf) I've made adjustments to the print parameters for additional strength. You may want to consider using these for additional strength (or make additional adjustments in Bambu Studio as you see fit. Here are the adjustments I've made:

Strength

  • Bottom Shell Layers - 5
  • Bottom Shell Thickness - 3 mm
  • Sparse Infill Density - 30%

If you want a similar “friction fit” you'll want to measure your pad diameter carefully (and you may have to do some test prints to get them perfect). (If you want a looser fit, maybe add 1 mm or so to your measured inside diameter).

You can't set any parameter to zero or you'll get an error (if so, just reload the .FCStd file and start over).

I'd also print these using a Textured PEI Plate as it gives the pads a little “texture”.

Would welcome comments and suggestions.
