Today I created a parametric button design for sewing. This is actually my first parametric design, and the goal was to build a flexible model that can easily generate many different buttons without having to redesign them from scratch.
The design includes a wide range of parameters, allowing you to customize things like diameter, thickness, rim width, spacing, and even the number of holes. Whether you need a classic 2-hole button, a 4-hole button, or something more unusual, you can simply adjust the parameters and generate a new variation.
It’s a small but very useful design tool — and a fun step in my Everydays Challenge, exploring parametric modeling and customizable 3D printable parts.
